Hello! I’m Megan, the messy mama behind Messy Bee Studio.
In 2015 I had just moved across the country, was unemployed, and volunteering at a local community art center sorting papers. One day the director popped her head in and “voluntold” me to teach a painting to class to a group of 15 6-8 year olds the following week. I protested, but she wouldn’t take no for an answer! I’m so glad she didn’t because that first class made me fall in love with teaching art to kids. Soon I was writing grants for the art center alongside other local community groups, which allowed us to bring free art programming to hundreds of kids in our community.
I am filled with so much joy as I get to see creativity and self-confidence bloom from the kids who join my classes. Please check out class offerings from Brunswick Arts Council for classes and workshops with other great artists in and around Frederick County, including mine!
